This Winter term engineering students voted on a student donation to the building of Engineering 7. The Referendum results are in and by a majority vote students voted No.
The vote breakdown was:
Yes: 36.94% (423)
No: 63.06% (722)
Voter turnout was 29.70%.
Although the Fall term referendum on A-Society passed with a majority vote of “yes”, since this is a Joint Referendum, both results would need to be “yes” for the referendum to pass. Since the Winter result is “no”, the Joint Referendum result is “no”.
The Waterloo Engineering Society would like to thank all the students who participated in this important referendum. If anyone has any questions in regards to the referendum and the implications of the results, they are welcome to contact Allyson Francis, the EngSoc “B” President, by email.
