Bus Push is coming to Eng Day 2026!

From humble beginnings in 1977, building up to nationwide news coverage, Bus Push is one of the Waterloo Engineering Society’s longest standing traditions, where Engineering students band together and tow a school bus around campus to raise money for charity!

What is Bus Push?

Bus Push is one of Waterloo Engineering’s most iconic traditions. Since 1977, engineering students have united to physically pull a 40 foot long school bus around Waterloo, putting our hands together to raise funds for local charity. It’s an incredible display of our community spirit and commitment to giving back. This event will be a huge celebration, bringing together Waterloo Engineering students, alumni, faculty, and guests from other schools. Yes, the bus is pulled. It’s safer.

What's New This Year?

For the first time ever, the legendary Waterloo Engineering Bus Push is fully integrated into EngDay, turning two of the largest Waterloo Engineering traditions into one MASSIVE celebration. We’ll be kicking off the action with a huge send-off right from the CPH courtyard, before taking the party on the move and towing the bus all across campus. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime experience!

Celebrate With Us!

Join us for EngDay on Thursday, July 9th at 11 AM all around the CPH Courtyard. Enjoy all of the EngDay festivities including: Free Food, a Live DJ, Purpling Stations, Prof dunk tanks, and more! Then prepare yourself for the bus push send off at 12:45 PM right from CPH Courtyard!

What do I need to Bring?

A white shirt: Make sure to wear one so you’re ready to get purpled! Need one? EngDay 2026 shirts will be sold in advance at Ridgidware!
Lots of water: Waterloo Summers are HOT! We’ll be moving around campus, so staying hydrated is key! We’ll have water stations around on site too.
Your friends: Tell your friends! Bring them along to join the crowd and make this event unforgettable. The more, the merrier!

How do I get Involved?

This year’s Bus Push is raising money for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region!

You’ll have many opportunities to donate and participate in Bus Push! We are keeping the official donation tiers under wraps for now, but we have some exciting rewards lined up for our supporters.

We also encourage you to get people to donate on your behalf!
