The goal of the First Year Mentorship Program is to help first year students transition into university. The mentorship program allows first year engineering students to connect with upper years and develop personal relationships within the community. We would like students to gain insight on how they can make the most of their first-year experience from folks who have walked in their shoes.

The kickoff event will allow first years to meet upper years. Mentors and mentees will be matched depending on preferences from both parties. However, this may not always be the case, but we’ll try to accommodate as best we can.

Below is a tentative schedule for the event:

5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Mandatory Mentor Training

**only mentors for this session**

Mentors arrive early and receive training from SSO, FYO, and EngSoc so they know their role and understand the program

6:15 – 6:30 pm

Mentee Registration

Mentees arrive at E5 SDC to register and learn about the event

6:30 – 8:00 pm

Free Dinner and Networking Activities
